Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Film and Television provides a comprehensive education in film and television, with attention to relevant areas of theory, history, and practice.
The programme equips students with the knowledge and vocational skills required in the creative industries–such as film, television, commercials, and other sectors of audio-visual production–while providing a strong theoretical foundation in the cinematic arts.
Study Tours
The Academy of Film organises a series of Study Tours to enhance students’ competitive edge and their international/ global exposure such as Berlin International Film Festival, Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival (Barcelona, Spain), Busan International Film Festival (Korea), Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival (Toronto), Far East Film Festival (Udine, Italy), Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (Korea), etc.
Internship
Students are encouraged to undertake a non-graded and zero-unit professional internship during their study. Television stations, media companies, advertising agencies and production houses, etc. may provide internship opportunities to students (subject to availability).
Career prospects for graduates include creative content industries, such as film, TV, broadcasting, multimedia, and other sectors involving in the use of digital video and audio, such as public relations and advertising, IT, education, publishing, corporate communication, arts and media management, and journalism.

Notes for elective subjects:
1) One of the electives must be any Category A subjects (excluding Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2));
2) The other elective can be any of the following subjects:
a) Category A subjects (including Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2));
b) Related Category B (Applied Learning) subjects (with "Attained with Distinction (I)" or above) listed in the following website:https://af.hkbu.edu.hk/en/programmes/ba-ftv.html#admission
c) Category C (Other Language) subjects.
Remarks on other requirements:
1) Good results in Chinese Language and English Language subjects are preferred.
2) High choice banding in JUPAS application is preferred.
3) Candidates may be required to attend an interview. Candidates are required to submit their portfolios before the interview,
and/or present their portfolios to the interview panel.
4) Candidates should prepare their portfolios in digital format for the ease of presentation. Portfolios should demonstrate candidates' potential in creativity, story telling techniques and visual expression abilities.
International Qualifications - Programme Entrance Requirements
Applicants are required to submit the following:
- Portfolio: Applicants are required to submit their portfolios in digital format (an original short film is required) before the interview and authorise the interview panel to access them. They may be asked to present their portfolios during the interview. The portfolios should demonstrate the applicant's potential in creativity, storytelling techniques, and visual expression abilities; and the detailed requirements for the portfolio can be found in the attachment.
- Reference Letter: A reference letter from teachers, principals or individuals with appropriate expertise is required. Applicants should assign referee in the online application system before submission, and the assigned referee must upload the recommendation directly into the online application system.

申请者将于六月收到有关作品集提交方法的电邮通知，通过初审的申请者将于六月收到面试安排通知。申请者须于面试前将作品集整合至单一电子资料夹中提交。作品集应展现申请者的创意、讲故事技巧和视觉表达能力。作品要求细则详见附件。
面试将于六月中下旬以线上形式进行，申请人须于成功递交申请后密切留意电邮通知及网上申请系统的消息公布。
