Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Film and Television programme provides comprehensive training in film and television, with attention to relevant areas of theory, history, and practice.

To equip students with the knowledge and vocational skills required to develop careers in the creative industries, such as film, television, commercial and other sections in audio-visual production and to provide theoretical training in cinematic arts.

  • Study Tours
    The Academy of Film organizes a series of Study Tours to enhance students’ competitive edge and their international/ global exposure such as Berlin International Film Festival, Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival (Barcelona, Spain), Busan International Film Festival (Korea), Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival (Toronto), Far East Film Festival (Udine, Italy), Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (Korea) etc.
  • Internship
    Students are encouraged to undertake a non-graded and zero-unit professional internship during their study. Television stations, media companies, advertising agencies and production houses, etc. may provide internship opportunities to students (subject to availability).

Career prospects for graduates include creative content industries, such as network TV, film, broadcasting, cable TV, multimedia, online and interactive application development, visual and creative communication, and other sectors involved in the use of electronic image-sound media, such as public relations and advertising, IT. education, publishing, corporate communication, arts and media administration and management.

Remarks:
Shortlisted applicants are required to submit the following:

  • Portfolio: Applicants are required to submit their portfolios in digital format (a video work is required) before the interview and authorise the interview panel to access them. They may be asked to present their portfolios during the interview. The portfolios should demonstrate the applicant's potential in creativity, storytelling techniques, and concepts of images; and
  • Reference Letter: A reference letter from teachers, principals or individuals with appropriate expertise is required. Applicants should assign referee in the online application system before submission, and the assigned referee should upload the recommendation directly into the online application system.
