The Programme is committed to providing students with a thorough training in Chinese language, literature, and culture. The acquisition of knowledge and skills of basic research and training in critical thinking enable students to achieve their academic goals, personal growth, and their commitment to lifelong learning and preparation for future careers. This serves the University's common goal of “Whole Person Education”, and empowers students to contribute to both the local and international communities.

In order to provide a wider scope of learning opportunities for students to develop their multi-perspective learning, the Department has been active in organizing a large variety, some in series, of seminars and international conferences on inter-disciplinary studies.  Students of the Department will have the opportunity to take part in the Student Exchange Programme to experience studying abroad and broaden their horizons.  Additionally, our Internship Programme includes learning programmes which are carried out in summer breaks at participating publishers, radio stations and secondary schools. The programme offers an opportunity for students to gain work experience.

Post-Secondary Qualifications - Programme Entrance Requirements

 

Applicants are required to submit their writing samples. These samples should be previous assignements or academic writing (published or not yet published). The total word limit is 3,000-4,000 Chinese characters. Your application will not be considered if there is no writing sample uploaded before the application deadline.
 

Applicants applying to the programme are expected to have a Chinese language qualification as deemed acceptable by the University.

For applicants holding international qualifications, they may fulfill the Chinese Language requirement with the following Chinese qualifications:
