The new sports industry programme aligns effectively with the recent efforts led by the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau to boost community and elite sports in Hong Kong, contributing to city’s potential as a major hub for international sports events. The upcoming opening of the new Kai Tak Stadium in late 2024 and the proposed development of about 30 new sports facilities as outlined in the government's "10-Year Development Blueprint for Sports and Recreation Facilities" underscores the necessity for a skilled workforce in the sports sector in Hong Kong.
