The programme provides a unique professional education in game design and animation with a broad elective study through a comprehensive list of courses offered by Department of Interactive Media, Department of History, Department of Music, and the Academy of Film to enrich students’ liberal arts education learning experience.
Career prospects for graduates include game designer, game programmer, animator, creative professional in digital media such as TV, film, and social media, and content creator in industries such as advertising, branding, online communication, and visual design.

Notes for elective subjects:
1)One of the electives must be any Category A subjects (excluding Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2));
2)The other elective can be any of the following subjects:
a) Category A subjects (including Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2));
b) Related Category B (Applied Learning) subjects (with "Attained with Distinction (I)" or above) listed in the:

c) Category C (Other Language) subjects.
Remarks on other requirements:
1)Good results in English Language, Mathematics Compulsory Part and Visual Arts subjects are preferred.
2)High choice banding in JUPAS application is preferred.
3)Potential candidates will be invited for interviews. Each candidate is required to present a Letter of Intent and a digital Portfolio. The Letter of Intent should state clearly, under 200 words, the candidate's reason to apply for the programme and his/her career goals for the future. The digital portfolio should demonstrate the candidate's creativity, visual and design literacy, and potentials in game design and/or animation.
Shortlisted International applicants (non-local non-mainland students) will be required to submit a portfolio for consideration. Portfolios should demonstrate the applicant's potential in creativity, visual and design literacy, animation and/ or game design. Selected applicants may be invited to attend an interview and present their portfolios. Applicants should prepare their portfolios in digital format for the ease of presentation.
For international applicants (non-local non-mainland applicants), School of Communication will not consider second choice applicants in admissions for 2025 entry. The detailed requirements for the work have been uploaded in the portfolio requirements guide.
