The programme encompasses pharmaceutical sciences, the identification, analysis, and quality control of Chinese Materia Medica (CMM), chemical modification and foundational skills in the development and production of new Chinese medicine drugs and pharmaceutical products, knowledge of pharmaceutical management in Hong Kong and internationally, and elective courses and practicum training. During the four-year programme, students are required to complete a 15-week practicum, and in the final year, students are required to carry out an Honours Project before graduation. Throughout the programme, research concepts and tools are emphasized, and the concept of “Whole Person Education” is upheld by providing student-oriented, adaptive and holistic learning through the General Education Programme.
The ONLY UGC-funded full-time undergraduate pharmacy programme in Chinese medicine and pharmaceutical sciences in Hong Kong
Starting in Year One, students attend practicum sessions that provide many opportunities to broaden their knowledge. During the summer break after the first year of study,
students are required to attend a 2-week practicum in Medicinal Botany. During the summer breaks after the third and fourth years of study, they undertake practicums at
either a pharmaceutical plant or an herbarium in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shaoguan, or Guangzhou.
Graduates can pursue a variety of career paths, including quality assurance and quality control in Chinese medicine and pharmaceutical science, and the development of new therapeutic drugs. They may consider roles in Chinese medicine clinics and in government organizations such as the Hospital Authority and the Department of Health.
Other options include engineering and manufacturing positions in pharmaceutical factories, as well as roles in international education and in the trade of pharmaceutical and healthcare products. Graduates may also pursue research postgraduate studies in pharmaceutical research, and novel drug design and development.

* 本专业只招收理科生，如高考省市属不分文理科，申请人须符合指定选考科目要求：高考必须选修化学。
中文语文分数须达110分（满分为150分）；如满分不是150分则按150分满分比例换算。
