Programme Description
Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Acting for Global Screen is a unique, international,interdisciplinary "state-of-the-art" Bachelor of Fine Arts programme in acting, whichcombines acting training and performance studies, technology understanding andcontemporary cultural reflection in its curriculum. It aims to be the most competitiveundergraduate programme in acting performance, with cross-cultural and globalenrichments that meet the needs of acting for screen, stage acting, acting with mediatechnology in the film industries for both local and non-local students.
The curriculum includes internship at professional performance bodies and overseastraining and learning. Students may conduct their graduation projects in English or anylanguages of their choice. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attendaudition/interview with casting experts.
Unique Features
Graduates are all rounded acting professionals. They shall be well equipped in actingperformance and highly competent with storytelling formats, be it linear and nonlinear,long form and flashy clips, and therefore will be able to perform on various media fromtraditional stage performance to acting with technology.

Film Festival Tours
The Academy of Film organises Film Festival Tours, overseas film exchange and workshops to enhance students' competitive edge and their international/ global exposure such as Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival (Barcelona, Spain), Busan International Film Festival (Korea), Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival (Toronto), Far East Film Festival (Udine, Italy), Tokyo International Film Festival (Japan), etc.
Internship and Workshops
Students are required to attend internship, performing practicum via casting and/or field work placement at overseas or local professional performing companies, media or film projects. There will also be workshops conducted by celebrated international and local drama and performing institutions.
Career Opportunities
The programme has very close network with theater, film and media professionals, festival juries, casting experts, film directors and performing practitioners who will be the advisory committee members of the Programme to attend audition, admission interview and graduation performance. They are potential employers of the graduates. The required internship in curriculum also provides golden career opportunities to our students.

We adopt a holistic approach in selecting applicants on individual merits. Applicants are required to meet the University entrance requirements, English Language requirements and Programme entrance requirements (if any).
Associate Degree (AD)/ Higher Diploma (HD) Final Year Students/ Holders
AD/ HD holders or final year students may apply for Year 1 entry.
Associate Degree (AD)/ Higher Diploma (HD) Non-final Year Students
Non-final year students studying AD/ HD programmes at a higher education institution recognised by the University are eligible to apply for Year 1 entry only. These applicants are required to fulfill the Entrance Requirements for HKDSE or equivalent qualifications.
Transfer Students
Transfer students who are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or higher degree programmes at a local or non-local university may apply.
Please note that according to the guidelines of the University Grants Committee (UGC) on inter-institutional transfer of students, repeating of UGC-funded undergraduate study across institutions, irrespective of whether there is a change of programme or discipline, is generally discouraged unless under very exceptional circumstances.
