Exchange Students

Students who are enrolled in other universities may apply for admission to the University as visiting students normally for one or two semesters with agreement from their home universities regarding transfer of units. For details/ enquiries, please visit the website of International Office.  

Visiting Students

Local applicants who do not intend to study an undergraduate programme but plan to take only certain courses (not more than 11 units) may be considered on an individual basis. Applicants should meet the University and Programme Admissions Requirements. For enquiries, please email ardirect@hkbu.edu.hk (Admissions) or ugs@hkbu.edu.hk (Course Enrollment).

Non-local applicants who do not intend to study an undergraduate programme but plan to take only certain courses may be considered on an individual basis. Higher Diploma

Higher Diploma Programme Offered by Academy of Film

The Academy of Film of HKBU was established in 2009. It provides opportunities for young people who wish to develop their career in the fields of film and TV creative media.

Higher Diploma in Creative Film Production

The Academy offers Higher Diploma Programme in Creative Film Production comprising five specialisations on a 2-year full-time basis:

  1. Acting Techniques Specialisation
  2. Cinematography and Lighting Specialisation
  3. Directing Specialisation
  4. Editing and Sound Mixing Specialisation
  5. Script Writing Specialisation

The programme aims at providing “Whole Person Education” through professional practice. It emphasises professional training in film production with a focus on creativity, aesthetics and cultural literacy. This is reflected particularly in the first year of study.

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accountancy

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accountancy is a four-year full-time self-financing degree programme. It is developed primarily for accounting and business associate degree and higher diploma graduates to advance their studies to the degree level. Students will be admitted directly into the third year of this programme, with the first and second years of study being exempted. Mature Students

Applicants who do not possess formal academic qualifications listed in our website and are aged 25 or above on 1 September of the admission year may be granted exemption from the University Admissions Requirements provided that they have pursued a programme of study recognised by the University and are able to demonstrate their suitability to study the selected programme.
